Objectives

To advance Community Initiatives through appropriate Net-workings for peace within Communities and Nationally;

To carry out concerted advocacy activities on peace-building, conflict management, human rights, democracy, development, as well as, interrogating the UN-SDGs and AU Agenda 2063, to ensure appropriate evaluation of local peculiarities for peace-enhancement for Development;

To serve as a platform for Policy Analysis, Briefs and Recommendations on varied subject-matters relating to peace, democracy, good governance, human rights and development;

To engage the private sector operators and other relevant state and non-state Actors, especially, Traditional Institutions, Religious Leaders and Community opinions influencers and the Media, for a whole-of-the-society-approach for peace and development, and
4
To carry out training, skills acquisitions and general education on the above stated thematic areas as well as organise seminars and conferences or workshops aimed at awareness creationand producing as well as fine-tuning policy options for Government on Peace and Development;

Canvassing and providing a platform for a whole-of-the society approach for building peace and ownership of the process as peace and development are everyone’s business.

Methodologies / Activities Linked to the Objectives

To advance community initiatives for peace, good governance, human rights, development and related activities: -
• Conduct community needs assessments for clarity on the specific needs and priorities of the Communities in secured and peaceful environments.

• Develop and enhance partnerships with local community-based organizations, grassroots movements, private sector operators, civil society organizations, media, community-opinion influencers and local state authorities to build peace-support through sustained promotion of enhanced engagements and collaborations.

• Organize community mobilization events, such as town hall meetings, community fora, and public lectures to raise awareness, share information and promote engagements by community members.

• Create and disseminate educational materials such as pamphlets, brochures and flyers to promote behavioural changes that support peace-building efforts for greater societal harmony.
To carry out concerted advocacy activities on peace-building, conflict management, human rights, development, as well as, interrogating the UN-SDGs and AU Agenda 2063, to ensure appropriate evaluation of local peculiarities for peace-enhancement: -
• Conduct research and analysis on issues related to peace, conflict, human rights, and development, for evidence-based advocacy messages.

• Develop partnerships with media outlets to disseminate messages and promote awareness on diverse issues around peace and development.

• Develop and implement advocacy plans, including targeted engagements with decision makers in government and other spheres of influence.

• Organize public events to raise awareness between and amongst the populace to promote larger societal buy-in for peace.
To engage the private sector operators and other relevant state and non-state Actors for a whole-of-the-society-approach for peace and development:
• Establish partnerships with private sector operators, Donors and other Development Partners, governmental agencies, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to initiate collaboration and cooperation on peace and developmental issues.

• Develop training programs, workshops and seminars on key issues related to peace, conflict, human rights, and development.

• Organize symposiums, conferences and other forums to provide a platform for sharing knowledge, best practices, and solutions to peace and development challenges.

• Produce policy options and conduct commissioned research works for policymakers, government actors, development partners, private sector operators, and other stakeholders on related subject to peace and development.
