Ambassador Mohammed A. Atose was born on January 15, 1961, in Keana, Nasarawa State, Nigeria. He is a highly respected Nigerian diplomat, economist, and public servant with a distinguished career spanning over three decades.
Atose’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Economics from Bayero University Kano (BUK) and a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Economics from the University of Jos (UNIJOS), equipping him with a solid foundation for his extensive service in government and international relations. His career highlights include many roles within the Foreign Service, where he served in various capacities, and rose to the rank of Director. His expertise spans various fields of diplomacy, with postings in Addis Ababa, Moscow, and Brussels, among others in addition to some specialized skills.
Following his retirement from public service, Ambassador Atose transitioned to the private sector as the Executive Director of Corporate Services at property development private company—Tom Hawksworth Limited (THL). In this role, he manages external communications, strategic business planning, and stakeholder relations, leveraging his extensive diplomatic and management experience to drive organizational growth.
Additionally, he has ventured into agriculture as the sole owner of MAATOS Farm in Keana and Al-Ahad Rice Mill at Lafia, contributing to national food security through farming and food processing.
Amb. Atose is Multilingual, he speaks English, Hausa, Alago, Amharic, Tiv, Idoma, Agatu, and Mandarin. In his leisure time, he enjoys walking, cycling, driving, reading, gardening and a passion for aviculture.
